Welcome to the graphical manual for the Swedish Pirate Party. These rules are not set in stone, but rather meant as a support for when designing something in connection with the Pirate Party. In Swedish the Pirate Party is called 'Piratpartiet'.
Official logotype
The purple (or white) sail is our logotype (symbol). Together with the name (wordmark) it will create our primary logo (combination mark). The sail can be used on its own, and even be used in one of our official colors. On the right you can see the so called "serpentine-version" of the logotype that combines our colors whilst symbolizing movement and flexibility. Different versions can be downloaded.

The design of the logotype
The logotype may also be used without text as well as in different Pirate Party colors.
Vertical logo
|
- Logotype - standard color purple, but can also be used in other Pirate Party colors PP-färgerna.
- Split the surface into 23 equal vertical parts.
- The logo uses 15 vertical squares.
- 'Piratpartiet' is always written in capital letters and in 'Lato Light'. It takes up two vertical squares
- The horizontal measurement defines the width on the vertical scale.
|
Horizontal logo
|
- Logotype - standard color purple, but can also be used in other Pirate Party colors PP-färgerna.
- Split the surface into 8 equal vertical parts.
- The logo uses 4 vertical squares.
- 'Piratpartiet' is always written in capital letters and in 'Lato Light'. It takes up two vertical squares
- The horizontal measurement defines the width on the vertical scale.

Using the Logotype
Counties / Local associations
|
The Pirate Party does not need to be typed out if the context of the matter makes it clear that it is by The Pirate Party. For example: A Facebook page where the name already states "The Pirate Party of West Gothia County", etc.
|
Webadress, etc.
|
Preferably always in a vertical format and always in lowercase 'Lato Bold' letters.
|
Colors
The colors may also be used as percent

Combining logo and colors
Font
|
- We're primarily using the font LATO in four cuts (?) (within parenthesis Google Fonts): Light/Light Italic (300), Regular/Italic (400), Bold/Bold Italic (700) och Black/Black Italic (900). gladly in combinations with each other (see Design section).
- There are several cuts (?) of this particular font - for example LATO HAIRLINE. It can be used for prints, but doesn't work well online etc.
- Download at www.latofonts.com for your computer.
- Lato Google fonts, for the webb.
|
Design
|
- Split the page into a grid: 14 horizontal squares and 20 vertical squares.
- The horizontal logo is always placed in the bottom left corner. During more conventional layouts it should take up 1 square in height
- The vertical logo can be place in any corner. During more conventional layouts it should take up 2 squares in height.
|
|
|
- On posters, flyers, etc. the vertical logo can be placed freely within the marginals
- Both logo-variations can be adjusted in size until it fits the image and layout
- 1 square marginal around
- If the material is to be printed, put half a square of white space around the layout.
- Think about the combination between image and text. Images with a lot of details = short text. Longer texts require free areas on the image.

Icons and illustrations
|
Sometimes there is a need to use icons or illustrations. For this purpose 'Font Awsome' is recommended. It goes very well together with out font and colors.
|
Remixing the logo
Example of a party-related sender - Mix between old and new
|
Remix (yes please!) the logotype and do fun things with it. However, use the font and colors specified in this manual when it's about official communication from the party or local chapter. The original of the logo may also be used and combined freely.
|

This logo may be used for remixing, developed into new forms and used for e.g. satire
